“Yeah, I'm one of those guys who loves going to work. I love the drive into town, taking in the view over the city, knowing I get to work with something I like doing, going to multiple locations, seeing different places and then going home feeling good, knowing I've done good. This job is perfect for me.”
Joe was born and raised in San Francisco and got started in his business by pure happenstance. While working in a warehouse, a friend gave him the number to a contactor and after one single meeting he was immediately hired.
“I had next to no experience when I started out so I did a lot of breaking walls with a 90-pound hammer, breaking down walls, dropping them and breaking them up. The boss then gave me a chance with core drilling, and one thing led to another. Since then I've done wall sawing, core drilling and flat sawing – and now you probably couldn't go two blocks here without coming across somewhere where I've cut something.”
A normal work day takes Joe to a number of different locations, with their own differing challenges to overcome. And when it comes to the hard-to-reach parts, the use of the Husqvarna power cutter has made all the difference.
“The Husqvarna power cutter has a nice, even acceleration and better control that allows me to cut for longer without tiring”
“I break out my power cutter to finish off evasive spots where you can't turn around or reach, to get a nice, clean edge. Mostly when working with granite curbs, gutters and driveways. I find that the Husqvarna power cutter has a nice, even acceleration and better control that allows me to cut for longer without tiring.”
And for Joe, choosing Husqvarna was easy. After all, he's been a brand ambassador for more than 30 years, ever since riding his Husqvarna motorcycle when he was a young boy.
“What I like about Husqvarna is the reliability, the fact that there's no difference from one product to the next, the quality is very consistent.
When it comes to the power cutter I'm particularly impressed with the automatic belt tensioner and the digital ignition easy starts.”
Because for Joe, it's all about results. And careful planning, of course.
“I'm a bit like chess player, I like to plan everything out – where I park and where the water source is. This goes for the equipment as well. Some saws just won't do it, so I plan that too. I always try to work smart, to make my myself more proficient which, in the end, means I get to go home earlier.”
